Ruger Mini 14 - New Tactical Variation

The new tactical variation of the Ruger Mini 14 is a slick looking rifle.  The one feature I really love about this rifle is the capability to fold the stock, making it perfect for stowing away in tight areas.  It also has an adjustable stock, pistol grip and four rails allowing you to add a scope, light, laser,  and any other bolt on you'd like.

The Ruger Mini 14 is fairly well balanced and the weight is acceptable.  But, this is definitely a CQB rifle meant for personal defense.  The big knock on Ruger Mini 14's of the past is that the gun was very accurate.  Of course, my response is that this version of the Mini 14 isn't meant for competitive target shooting, it's meant for self defense.  Apparently, the latest versions of the Ruger Mini 14 has a barrel that is made of heavier material which should translate into a much more accurate rifle than the Mini 14's of the past.

Here's the best part.  Although a purist might not put the Ruger Mini 14 in the same category of rifle as an AR-15, it's hard to beat the $650 price tag that leaves you with a .223 ready to slap on the accessories of your choice.  With most AR-15's at a price point at least $200 higher, the Ruger Mini 14 might just be the rifle you are looking for.

Heres some additional data on the Ruger Mini 14:
